About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with the company’s established standards, instructions, and procedures. The role includes routine and periodic cleaning of building interiors and entrances, maintaining restrooms and supplies, collecting and disposing of trash, and reporting facility defects to supervisors. The position is full-time and is described as a second-shift role.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and cooperate as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment, including a backpack-style portable vacuum cleaner.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other interior surfaces.
• Operate commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean them daily and shampoo them when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills, glass in interior doors and partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, both interior and exterior.
• Wash or spot-clean interior walls as appropriate on a daily basis.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily, including wiping glass, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves, and stall partitions, and sweeping, mopping, or scrubbing floors.
• Monitor for possible defects, such as clogged urinals or lights that are out, and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to the designated collection area for removal.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways or sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, polishing of leather and wood surfaces, and wall washing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
