About The Position

McWane Ductile New Jersey is seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a 3rd Shift Clean Up Crew member. This role is crucial for maintaining a safe and efficient production environment by ensuring all areas of the plant are clean and ready for operation. The position involves detailed cleaning tasks in the Melting, Casting, and Finishing areas, as well as assisting with plant maintenance and safety procedures. This is a night shift position with a pay rate between $27.17 and $30.17 per hour, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

Responsibilities

  • Clean pig bed and transfer ladle pits in the Melting Area.
  • Repair ladles before production runs as needed.
  • Communicate any arising issues to supervisors.
  • Clean specific areas of machines in the Casting Area, including puller beds, machine beds, ladle areas, and walkways.
  • Ensure the 'up and over' area is clean.
  • Ensure ladles are placed on machines in a timely manner to meet time hacks for production startups.
  • Communicate needs for specific tools and equipment for cleanup tasks to supervisors.
  • Perform cleanup tasks in the Finishing Area as directed, following cleanup check sheets.
  • Hand completed cleanup check sheets to the finishing department nightly.
  • Communicate all issues and work orders in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with supervisors regarding maintenance tasks and crane usage.
  • Communicate work orders to the maintenance department in a timely fashion for Casting, Hotline, Cement line, and Paint line.
  • Assist in signing lockout/tagout (LOTO) forms for maintenance employees.
  • Complete monthly safety requirements.
  • Complete safety paperwork assigned from departments that cannot be completed during production hours.
  • Interact with all personnel levels.
  • Work with others in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Follow all work directives and safety procedures.
  • Act as a self-starter.
