About The Position

At the Pratt & Whitney Columbus Engine Center, Clean Line Mechanics play a vital role in the aircraft engine restoration process by ensuring engine parts are cleaned, processed, and prepared to meet FAA, quality, and operational standards. In this hands-on role, you will operate cleaning equipment, handle engine components, monitor chemical and bath parameters, and follow established repair station procedures to support safe and efficient operations. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a 2nd Shift position: Monday – Thursday 3:30 pm – 2 am. 2nd-weekend shift employees are expected to participate in ongoing cross-training across assembly cells and support functions. Cross-functional teamwork helps ensure operational flexibility, consistent throughput, and high-quality engine delivery.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience cleaning mechanical components, machinery, or industrial equipment
  • Familiarity with manufacturing cleaning processes, chemicals, or pressure washing equipment
  • Ability to identify and resolve configuration and compatibility issues.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

  • Perform cleaning operations in accordance with repair station procedures, including degreasing, scrubbing, rinsing, and pressure washing aircraft engine parts
  • Load and process parts using the correct baskets, equipment, and chemical baths
  • Monitor and maintain bath parameters, chemical concentrations, and temperature gauges to ensure compliance with process requirements
  • Handle engine parts safely and properly throughout the cleaning process
  • Follow all Employee Health & Safety (EH&S), environmental, and quality procedures
  • Participate in ongoing cross-training across assembly cells and support functions.
