About The Position

The Portland Clean Energy Community Benefits Fund (PCEF) in the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability (BPS) is hiring two Clean Energy Project Managers: one for the PCEF Commercial Buildings team and one Clean Industry Coordinator on the BPS Climate Team. The Commercial Buildings position supports grants and contracts funding planning, energy efficiency, renewable energy for existing buildings, above-code new construction, community solar, and other community-based clean energy solutions. This position has ongoing funding. The Clean Industry Coordinator oversees the PCEF-funded $20 million Industrial Modernization Grant administered by Prosper Portland and is funded through December 2029. PCEF invests more than $200 million annually in climate action and climate justice, including clean energy, transportation decarbonization, green infrastructure, regenerative agriculture, and workforce and contractor development. The role helps turn those investments into successful, accountable, community-centered projects and programs. It requires project management, relationship-building, communication, and problem-solving skills to help grantees and contractors succeed while stewarding public funds for climate and community benefit. The positions are full time, with a Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule; alternate schedules may be available. The work arrangement is hybrid, with the position based at the Vanport Building in Portland. Remote work must be performed within Oregon or Washington. The limited-duration position is funded through December 2029; its appointment may not exceed two years except when external grants or funding are extended. The City offers a benefits package, flexible work schedules, and support for training and skills development.
