About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate classroom teacher to advance the Roosevelt Charter Academy mission and vision by providing high quality classroom instruction and a focus on continued improvement of students, school, and self. You will create a positive and engaging learning environment where students feel supported, challenged, and motivated to achieve their full potential. Working collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and administrators, you will implement curriculum standards, develop lesson plans, assess student progress, and provide constructive feedback to foster continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Must be or able to be endorsed in the content area, passed the PLACE or Praxis test in the content area, and/or have 24 semester credit in the content area to meet Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) "highly qualified" status.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous teaching experience (preferably in elementary education) is a plus.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations, including those with special needs, is beneficial.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with children.
  • Ability to design and implement effective instructional strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and families.
  • Familiarity with educational technology tools and platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students, including those with disabilities and English language learners.
  • Differentiate instruction to ensure that all students can succeed, with lesson plans translated into dynamic learning experiences that maximize instructional time.
  • Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity through interactive activities that encourage student engagement.
  • Conduct regular assessment of student learning, achievement, and performance, with results reported as per school policy.
  • Create a positive, supportive classroom environment, promoting creativity, self-expression, and teamwork.
  • Provide clear and consistent expectations and instructions to ensure a safe and productive learning space.
