About The Position

Victory Education is hosting an interview event for various classroom support positions. These roles are crucial in providing quality education and support to children and students within Victory Early Childhood programs and Victory Academy at Ridge. The programs cater to a range of needs, from early childhood care for children with and without disabilities to specialized education for students in grades 3-12 with emotional disturbance, intellectual disability, multiple disabilities, or traumatic brain injury. The roles involve assisting teachers, providing academic and behavioral support, and fostering social-emotional development in a nurturing environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
  • Minimum Education: At least one of the following must be met: Bachelor’s Degree with 1 years’ experience in early education or mental health field OR Associate's Degree In Human Services or related field with 3 years’ experience in early education or mental health field
  • NYS Drivers License

Nice To Haves

  • Some Early Childhood or related field is preferred for Teacher Aide.
  • Some experience in the mental health field is preferred for Education Aide.
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) preferred for Preschool Behavior Specialist.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the teacher in providing quality education in a language-enriched environment.
  • Supports the teacher by following his/her lead to teach life skills, socialization skills, and pre-academics to children ages 6 weeks to 5 years.
  • Helps children attain their highest level of personal achievement.
  • Provides academic support and services to pediatrics, adolescents, and adults adjusting for the effects of age, culture, background, experience and developmental status.
  • Directly supervises students in areas of educational programming and activities as a support of academic, behavioral and life skills.
  • Provides support across classrooms to help children develop strong social-emotional and behavioral skills.
  • Guides children through challenges, supporting emotional regulation, and promoting positive behaviors in a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Works collaboratively with teachers and staff to respond to individual student needs, including providing additional support during times of dysregulation or crisis.
