Under the supervision of the Director, the floater will perform the duties assigned to her by the Lead Teacher. Employee may be asked to work in any of Ibero’s childcare programs. This role requires the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations made for qualified individuals with disabilities. The aide reports directly to the Education Specialist and is responsible for establishing and maintaining good working relationships with Ibero staff, related agencies, community representatives, and parents. They will assist Primary Caregivers and/or Lead Teachers in implementing a developmentally appropriate program, adhering to Ibero’s policies, NYS regulations, and UPK standards. Key aspects of the role include speaking positively and respectfully to children, supervising and ensuring children’s safety, socializing with children during activities and meals, guiding children for calm transitions, and maintaining a pleasant and safe classroom environment. The position also involves assisting with minor cleaning duties, completing work in a timely manner, attending scheduled meetings and trainings, and maintaining the confidentiality of children and families. Continuous professional development is expected, along with performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
