Classroom Substitute (After School)
About The Position
BrightBee is seeking a Classroom Substitute to support the full group instruction of students at their partner sites in the Detroit area. They are partnered with UPrep and DAAS to find substitute teachers across all grade levels and content areas. This role is perfect for individuals with a genuine enthusiasm for working with children and youth, who align with the mission of supporting workers, students, and schools while promoting academic success. The role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to adapt to varying classroom environments, and dependability and punctuality for on-demand job opportunities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 60 college credits to apply for Michigan sub permit.
- Some prior experience working with K-12 students in educational settings.
- Availability for after school day (2pm-6pm).
- Genuine enthusiasm for working with children and youth.
- Alignment to the mission of supporting workers, students, and schools while promoting academic success.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to quickly adapt to varying classroom environments, student needs, and instructional approaches.
- Dependability and punctuality.
- Pass a background check, livescan, and may need to obtain other necessary testing/clearances.
- Authorization to contact former employers.
