About The Position

Easterseals Western and Central Pennsylvania is a non-profit organization looking to hire a dynamic Level III or II Classroom Assistant to work with children with special needs ages 3-8 years old at our Murrysville/Export, PA location. The position is full-time, 7 hours a day at a range of $20-$23 per hour. This comes with a full benefit package valued at 6K. Come join our team and experience the growth of amazing children!

Requirements

Classroom Assistant III: Bachelor's (Required)
Classroom Assistant III: PA Professional Teaching Certificate in Special Education, Elementary Education, and/or Early Childhood Education (Required)
Classroom Assistant II: Associates or Bachelors required (preferably with major in Child Care, Elementary Education, Special Education or Human Services field).
Acceptable Criminal Record Check required.
Acceptable Child Abuse History Clearance required.
Acceptable Department of Education FBI Clearance required.
Passing of physical examination and TB required.

Nice To Haves

Classroom Assistant III: Special Education Experience: 1 Year (Preferred)
Prior experience working with children with disabilities (ages birth to 8) preferred.
Classroom Assistant II: Evidence of 20 hours of annual staff development training related to position assignment required.
Classroom Assistant II: Prior experience working with children with disabilities (ages birth to 8) preferred.

Responsibilities

Assisting in implementing the students' IEP.
Providing a safe and accepting classroom.
Providing 1:1 instruction as needed.
