Classroom Assistant for After School
About The Position
Togetherhood is expanding to Boston and seeking enthusiastic teachers and assistants to support their network of enrichment classes. Togetherhood operates a marketplace connecting educators with schools and communities for various enrichment programs, ranging from arts and crafts to STEM. Their mission is to bring high-quality enrichment and education to every community. As a Classroom Assistant, you will be matched with 1-2 hour shifts at schools and community centers across Boston, with terms lasting 6 to 18 weeks. This role involves assisting the primary instructor, ensuring timely arrival, and creating memorable experiences for children.
Requirements
- Able to create positive class community and build relationships with students
- Has excitement, joy and passion for teaching kids and personal development/learning
- Cooperative, supportive, flexible
- Has a strong work ethic and do whatever it takes mind set
- At least two references
- Provide a resume showcasing any relevant experience working with kids
- If you lack classroom experience, please share any other work you've done with kids, formal or informal — either in a cover letter, or there’s a space on the application questionnaire
Responsibilities
- Assist the primary classroom instructor in facilitating a great class
- Consistently arrive at your class on time (or early!)
