About The Position

Job Summary The Classroom Aide supports the classroom teacher in providing a safe, respectful, and faith-centered learning environment. The aide assists with instructional activities, classroom management, and student supervision while reinforcing Catholic values and the mission of the school.

Requirements

High school diploma required
Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting preferred
Understanding of child development and classroom management basics
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Background check and safe environment training as required by the diocese
All candidates receiving an employment offer must submit a pre-employment screening. The screening will include criminal background check, Family Care Safety Registration, drug screen, employment and educational licensure/certification verification, health screening, and any other screenings deemed necessary for employment. Any offer would be contingent upon successful completion of any required screening.

Responsibilities

Assist the teacher with daily instructional activities and lesson implementation
Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts
Help prepare instructional materials, classroom displays, and learning stations
Support students with assignments, organization, and classroom routines
Supervise students in the classroom, hallways, playground, cafeteria, and during transitions
Help maintain a positive, respectful, and orderly classroom environment
Reinforce classroom rules and behavior expectations set by the teacher
Provide guidance and support to students as needed
Model Catholic values such as respect, kindness, and service
Support prayer, liturgical activities, and faith-based classroom practices
Encourage students to demonstrate Christian behavior in daily interactions
Assist in fostering a faith-filled classroom atmosphere
Assist with grading, filing, copying, and organizing student work
Help maintain accurate records as directed by the teacher
Prepare and distribute classroom materials and supplies
Work closely with the classroom teacher to support instructional goals
Communicate student needs or concerns to the teacher
Participate in staff meetings or training sessions as required
Maintain professionalism when interacting with students, parents, and staff
