About The Position

St. Peter Catholic School in Kirkwood seeks a caring, dependable, and faith-filled Classroom Aide to support teachers and students in fostering a positive, Christ-centered learning environment. The Classroom Aide assists with daily classroom activities, student supervision, instructional support, and classroom organization while helping to promote the academic, social, and spiritual development of students. The ideal candidate is committed to the mission of Catholic education and enjoys working collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and families.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, and staff.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to work as part of a team.
• All candidates must respect and support the mission and values of Catholic education.

Nice To Haves

• associate degree or college coursework in education preferred.
• Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, or related setting preferred.
• Practicing Catholic preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher with daily instructional and classroom management activities.
• Provide support to individual students and small groups during lessons and learning activities.
• Help prepare instructional materials, classroom resources, and learning centers.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, and other assigned times.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Support student engagement, positive behavior, and social-emotional development.
• Assist with clerical tasks such as copying, filing, organizing materials, and record keeping.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student learning and school initiatives.
• Participate in school activities and duties as assigned.
• Uphold and support the mission, values, and teachings of the Catholic Church and St. Peter Catholic School.
