About The Position

Provides support to carry out Export Operations. Updates and maintains current regulations for US/Mexico trade. Assist with the day-to-day classification operations for all domestic and international offices. Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma or G.E.D preferred but not required
  • Two-year vocational/technical school certificate from an accredited educational institution in Import/Export or related field.
  • Five years’ work experience in a classification position or any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Knowledge of part numbers and part usage and understand applications for use.
  • Ability to detect and prevent violations of Mexican customs laws and export regulations for company customers.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as harmonized tariff schedule and explanatory notes.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Spanish clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to investigate a variety of administrative problems and make recommendations as to their solutions and to prepare working procedures.
  • Ability to analyze and appraise and organize facts and present material clearly and logically in oral or written form.
  • Ability to take and follow directions from supervisor.
  • Ability to perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to maintain good planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to use computer hardware, various software programs and technologies, including word processing and spreadsheet programs.
  • Ability to maintain a good and positive working relationship with all co-workers and other contacts.
  • Ability to follow all rules of telephone courtesy in all telephone communications
  • Required to comply with all JAMCO’s policies and procedures.

  • If you hold any relevant certifications in warehouse operations, inventory management, or data classification, please submit them as they may be considered in evaluating your qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain part number database classifications for all company customers.
  • Assist and audit classification protocols for branch and international offices.
  • Classification of new products being imported into Mexico.
  • Provide assistance in identifying classification issues and implement appropriate resolution.
  • Provide customer support for compliance of applicable restrictions for customs clearance.
