The Classification Specialist will provide position classification and position management support. This role involves determining appropriate position titles, occupational series, grades, and organizational alignment. The specialist will interpret and apply classification standards, regulations, and policies to ensure accurate and consistent classification determinations. They will consult with supervisors and managers to evaluate duties, responsibilities, and organizational requirements, and review, develop, and validate position descriptions. The role also includes preparing classification evaluation statements, conducting desk audits, determining FLSA and bargaining unit status, and identifying solutions for classification and organizational structure issues. Maintaining classification case files and providing guidance on classification processes are also key responsibilities.
