About The Position

This is a Class IIA - Cafeteria Support position located at Smith Elementary within the Food Service Department. The role involves approximately 2 hours per day and the rate of pay is per the SMESPA Contract. The position reports to the Food Service Director.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Ability to work well with all employees, students and families.
• Punctual and good attendance record
• Good organizational skills/ability to plan ahead
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately under tight time constraints
• Familiar with or capable of learning cash register
• Knowledge of safe food handling under Health Department Regulations
• Ability to meet physical requirements of the job; repetitive bending/twisting and lifting.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in food service employment preferred

Responsibilities

• Complete duties efficiently, including but not limited to; food prep, clean up, stocking kitchen
• Assume responsibility for storage and disposal of unused foods.
• Serve or cashier during meal service
• Complete required training
• Punctual, reliable and predictable attendance is required
• Other duties as assigned
