About The Position

Vactor Mfg. is hiring a Class I (Mig) Welder for its 3rd shift operation in Streator, Illinois. The role involves operating welding equipment and other departmental tools to produce weldments, taking responsibility for the quality of one's own work, and maintaining a clean and safe workplace. Overtime commitment is required when needed. The stated wage is $30.41 per hour, with over $5.00 in increases during the first two years. Relocation is not offered.

Requirements

• Pass a weld test.
• Be able to operate all machines and tools in the department.
• Be able to climb ladders.
• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Be able to work in prolonged postures, including bending, stooping, kneeling, walking, standing, and squatting, while performing job tasks.
• Be able to work with minimal supervision.
• Have good knowledge of weld symbols, processes, and procedures.
• High school graduate or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Weld certification is desired but not required.
• Ability to read blueprints is desired.

Responsibilities

• Operate MIG and TIG welding machines.
• Operate gas torches, plasma torches, grinders, jib hoists, and overhead cranes.
• Maintain a clean, safe workplace.
• Commit to overtime when needed.
• Take responsibility for own work.
• Use jigs and fixtures to produce weldments.
