About The Position

Vactor Mfg. is hiring an Assembler for second shift. The role assembles and welds components and sub-assemblies according to drawings and verbal instructions, and performs electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical applications. The employee is expected to maintain a clean, safe workplace and commit to overtime when needed. The position is based at Vactor Mfg. in Streator, Illinois. Relocation services are not offered. Vactor manufactures municipal sewer-cleaning vacuum trucks and industrial vacuum loaders and is a subsidiary of Federal Signal Corporation.

Requirements

At least 2 years of mechanical assembly experience and strong mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read blueprints, hydraulic schematics, diagrams, and build tickets.
Must pass a MIG welding test.
Ability to operate an overhead crane, hoist, and miscellaneous air and electric hand tools.
Ability to work in prolonged postures, including bending, stooping, kneeling, walking, standing, and squatting, while performing job tasks.
Ability to climb ladders.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
High school diploma or equivalent.
