About The Position

The Class I Maintenance Engineer performs entry-level maintenance and repair tasks to help maintain the resort's guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities. Working under the guidance of senior engineering staff, this position assists with preventive maintenance, responds to guest service requests, and helps ensure the resort is maintained in a safe, clean, and operational condition while delivering exceptional guest service.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous maintenance, construction, landscaping, or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
Basic knowledge of general maintenance principles is a plus.
Willingness to learn multiple maintenance trades, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.
Dependable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb stairs and ladders throughout the workday.
Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Safely operate hand tools, ladders, and basic maintenance equipment.
Must be available to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
May be required to work overtime or respond to emergency maintenance situations as needed.

Nice To Haves

Valid driver's license
Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
OSHA 10 and CPO certifications or willingness to obtain.
EPA Section 608 certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Complete assigned preventive maintenance tasks on guest rooms, public areas, and resort facilities.
Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests in a courteous and professional manner.
Perform basic repairs including: Replacing light bulbs and ballasts, Repairing or replacing door hardware, Unclogging drains, Repairing plumbing fixtures, Basic painting and drywall patching, Minor carpentry repairs.
Assist senior engineers with electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical repairs.
Perform routine inspections to identify maintenance concerns and report deficiencies.
Maintain swimming pool and spa areas as assigned.
Operate hand tools and basic power tools safely.
Complete work orders accurately using the property's maintenance management system.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Follow all safety procedures, OSHA standards, and Omni Hotels & Resorts policies.
Assist with special projects, room renovations, and resort maintenance as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
