About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class C Non-CDL Truck Driver in Sarepta, LA — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This position offers a dedicated, home-daily route within a 300-mile radius, operating straight trucks with refrigerated trailers. Ryder provides paid training on all necessary equipment, including pallet jacks. The freight is touch freight, consisting of food goods. Ryder emphasizes carrier transparency, ensuring drivers are aware of pay, routes, and schedules upfront. Drivers are considered the 'Captain' and their safety decisions are protected. Ryder also offers opportunities for those interested in becoming company drivers, with support for purchasing their own trucks.

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience.
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test.
  • Must have verifiable driving experience (must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years.
  • Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
  • Pass a DOT physical.
  • Pass a Ryder road test.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures.

  • Experience operating a straight truck or box truck.

Responsibilities

  • Safely driving a vehicle within a 300-mile radius.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards.
  • Maintaining accurate records.
  • Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
