About The Position

Ryder is hiring a NON-CDL Truck Driver in Edgewood, NY — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This local position offers home daily routes within a 250-mile radius of Edgewood, NY, including the 5 Burroughs. Drivers will operate a 26' Box Truck and handle touch freight, specifically windows and doors. Trucks are 36 months or newer and come with 24/7 roadside maintenance. Ryder provides a supportive environment for company drivers, including purchasing their truck and offering assistance.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Verifiable driving experience in like equipment (6 months in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years)
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Responsibilities

• Safely driving a vehicle within a 250-mile radius of Edgewood, NY, including the 5 Burroughs.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards.
• Maintaining accurate records.
• Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer.
• Other tasks as assigned.
