About The Position
Major activities for Class B Welder Fabricator work will include design and fabrication from Engineers as well as shop drawings and designs by Welder Fabricator. This role will work with mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, pulleys, rollers, conveyor systems, and bearings. The position will maintain needed supplies and materials to support on-site fabrication and maintain welding and shop machinery. Shall perform stick, tig, and mig, welding during fabrication work, or as part of routine Maintenance activities. This position performs the bulk of Mechanical Integrity repairs, piping and fabrication. The role also involves working safely and exhibiting behaviors consistent with the Microporous core values including contributions to the 5S program and Environmental Safety and Health Policy. Understanding the importance of conformance with the environmental policy relevant procedures and the requirements of the EMS (Environmental Management System) is crucial. This includes understanding the environmental impacts associated with work activities, the environmental benefits of improved personal performance, and the role in achieving conformance with the environmental policy, relevant procedures, and the requirements of the EMS, including preparedness and response. Employees must understand the potential consequences of deviation from specified operating procedures, immediately report any accidents and releases to the Supervisor, and recognize that adhering to job responsibilities and procedures regarding environmental, health and safety is a condition of employment. Compliance with all environmental, safety, and health rules, policies, and programs established by the company to the extent of training received is required. Employees should not take risks, must notify immediate supervision of any unsafe condition, and actively participate in finding appropriate solutions. Supporting the site safety culture and promoting safe work in every aspect of the job is expected.
Requirements
- High School Diploma is required.
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of Welding and Fabrication within Manufacturing Maintenance experience is required.
- Ability to read and build from detailed drawings required.

- Post-secondary vocational education, or certified Welding preferred.
