About The Position

Interstate Waste Services is seeking experienced CDL B Commercial Roll Off Truck Drivers for their Stamford, CT location. This is a full-time position with steady, year-round work, offering competitive hourly pay between $25.00 and $26.00. The role involves safely operating front, side, or rear-loading trucks to pick up waste or recyclable materials, transporting them to disposal or recycling facilities. Drivers may make multiple trips per shift and will operate both manual and automatic trucks. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, maneuver up to 100 pounds, and frequently climb in and out of the truck cab. Drivers are also responsible for pre and post-trip inspections and ensuring their vehicle adheres to safety standards and regulations.

Requirements

Must be 21 Years of Age & Legally Eligible to Work in the United States
Valid Class A or B CDL
Airbrake Endorsement
1-year CDL driving experience in the last 7 years.
Great Safety Record and Clean MVR
Working Knowledge of DOT, OSHA & Applicable Traffic Regulations
Ability to Speak & Read English to Converse with the General Public, understand Highway Traffic & Signals, Respond to Official Questions & Make Legible Entries on Reports & Records
Read & Understand a Map

Willing & Able to Work Required Worked Hours as Allowed Under DOT Regulation & May Include Weekend, Night &/Or Holiday Work.

Nice To Haves

Must be able to drive a Manual Transmission
Experience as a Driver or Helper for a Refuge Company is Highly Preferred

Responsibilities

Safely operate front, side, or rear-loading trucks for the pick-up service of bags or containers filled with waste or recyclable material.
Transport material to a disposal, transfer, or recycle facility.
Make one or more trips throughout the shift.
Perform driver pre and post inspections.
Ensure truck follows IWS's safety standards as well as OSHA and DOT regulations, and local traffic laws, prior to and while operating the vehicle.
Navigate through congested communities and confined or tight areas in city locations.
Routinely climb in and out of the truck cab to service customer accounts.
