Class B Driver (Salt Lake City)
About The Position
Daniels Health & Sharpsmart is seeking a customer-focused Class B driver to operate a 26-foot box truck across the Salt Lake City area. The driver collects sharps and medical waste containers from healthcare customer locations, delivers and stores containers, and provides daily customer service. The role is based at 2950 S 900 W, South Salt Lake, UT 84119. This is a permanent, full-time position for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, starting at 5 AM and continuing until the route is finished. The stated pay is $26.50 per hour, or $27.50 per hour with a HAZMAT endorsement. Full-time roles receive benefits, sick leave, and vacation leave from day one.
Requirements
- Valid DOT medical card.
- Delivery experience operating a 26-foot box truck.
- Driving experience involving manual handling.
- Experience conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations.
- Clean driving record.
- Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, and roadside inspections.
- Confidence with Level 1 through Level 3 roadside inspections.
- Proven longevity in past employment.
- On-time delivery practices.
- Flexible, can-do attitude and strong customer focus.

- HAZMAT endorsement, which qualifies for the stated rate of $27.50 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Safely collect, deliver, and store medical waste containers at customer locations.
- Provide strong customer service and build positive customer relationships.
- Operate vehicles safely, including box trucks up to 26 feet.
- Complete deliveries according to the time schedule and clearly communicate changes or challenges.
- Load and unload containers, and prioritize and organize the truck according to the schedule and needs.
- Manage a route under leadership direction and deliver timely, efficient, and effective service.
- Comply with DOT regulations, log hours, and complete roadside inspections.
- Perform frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of 50–75 pounds, as well as pushing or pulling 100–250 pounds as applicable.
