About The Position

Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking customer-oriented, motivated individuals to join their professional team as a Class AZ Driver. Applicants must be residing in Canada and legally entitled to work. This role involves delivering a diverse fleet of construction equipment to customer jobsites, performing pre- and post-inspections, and maintaining accurate records. Requirements

  • Valid Class AZ driver’s license with a driver’s abstract and commercial driving record (no more than three demerit points).
  • 5+ years of professional driving experience.
  • Comfortable with working outdoors year-round and driving in varying weather/road conditions.
  • Comfortable with city driving.
  • Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.
  • Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
  • Highly safety-focused and professional.
  • Available and willing to work overtime when required and on an on-call rotation if required.
  • Flexibility; must be comfortable with managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organization skills.
  • Strong team-player with effective communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and colleagues.
  • Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with operation, load securement, and transportation of heavy-duty construction equipment on flat-bed trucks is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a diverse fleet of construction equipment to and from customer jobsites, including aerial, earth moving, and compaction equipment.
  • Load and unload equipment, securing it per company safe work procedures and inspecting it in transit if necessary.
  • Complete thorough and accurate daily pre-inspections and post-inspections, regulatory logs, and timesheets.
  • Check gas, oil, and other fluid levels.
  • Secure customer signature on contract, if not already signed.
  • Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups.
  • Inform management of new sales opportunities and job sites.
  • Double check delivered items to ensure customers receive exactly what they ordered.
  • Provide basic instruction to customers on the safe operation of equipment if necessary.
  • Communicate with dispatch if behind schedule, so customers may be notified.
  • Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records. Fill out appropriate forms and get customer signature if equipment is missing or broken upon pickup.
  • Tag and move broken equipment to the repair area.
  • Keep the truck in clean and professional condition at all times.
