About The Position

Schoolcraft Junior/Senior High School is seeking an enthusiastic and student-focused Class Advisor to mentor and lead a specific high school graduating class. The Class Advisor plays an essential role in driving student engagement, building school pride, and creating a memorable high school experience. Through close collaboration with student class officers, this position energizes the student body to participate fully in tradition-rich campus events, school spirit days, and major high school milestones. Class Advisors support events planned by the Student Council as they pertain to their class.

Requirements

• Current Schoolcraft staff member or qualified community candidate with a passion for high school student activities.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and motivational skills.
• Ability to supervise students during after-school, evening, and weekend event preparation (e.g., float building sessions).
• Demonstrated ability to foster an inclusive, high-energy, and positive team environment.
• Must be fingerprinted and pass a criminal records review.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage and motivate class members to participate in school-wide spirit days, pep rallies, and student activity programming throughout the academic year.
• Coordinate and supervise fall homecoming festivities for the class, including organizing location, materials, and student participation for the class float building design and parade entry.
• Guide and assist students in designing, building, and installing class spirit displays (wall decorations, hallway displays, or banners) for winter homecoming competitions.
• Provide dedicated support and organization for Prom during the class’s junior year, assisting students with venue coordination, fundraising, theme development, ticketing, and event logistics.
• Be available to chaperon school-wide dances (fall homecoming and winter homecoming) and ensure supervision for all homecoming-related student activities.
• Serve as the primary adult mentor for class officers and committee members, fostering leadership skills, teamwork, and inclusive participation among all class members.
• Facilitate regular class meetings, oversee class fundraising initiatives, and manage the class financial account in accordance with district guidelines.
