About The Position

The Class A Yard Driver / Material Handler will have responsibility for acting as a Warehouse Operator (50% of the role) by loading and unloading materials within our Distribution Center. Along with acting as a CDL Shuttle Driver (50% of the role) by bringing finished goods or raw materials trailer between our Packaging and Distribution centers at our Golden Valley campus. Drivers on 2nd shift will rotate weekly as drivers for one week and material handler the next following week.

Requirements

  • Meets all DOT qualifications in accordance with the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations, Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations
  • Class A license
  • Possess a current DOT Medical certification card
  • Meets all D.O.T. qualifications in accordance with the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations, Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations
  • Hazmat Endorsement
  • Must be able to effectively communicate to maintain positive relations with team members
  • Capable of standing, walking, and repeatedly climbing into and out of truck tractor or forklift several times throughout the day
  • Ability to lift 50lbs periodically
  • Must be able to perform basic math skills
  • Forklift operation experience and/or training
  • Experience using a computerized Warehouse Management System
  • Must have a good command of the English language and the ability to read and understand written instructions.
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Class A license: 1 year
  • Current Class A CDL with Tanker and Hazmat Endorsements
  • Basic Microsoft Office proficiency using Microsoft Office, including Access, Excel, and Word
  • Inventory Management System (JDE)
  • Employee must have the ability to lift/carry up to 60 pounds occasionally and push/pull 76-100 pounds occasionally.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or use hands, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, and/or walk.
  • Employees may be subject to random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations.
  • Work in extreme heat (>80 degrees) during summer in the Yard, Warehouse, and Production area.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – safety eyeglasses and safety steel-toe shoes are required.
  • Safety concerns to include heavy products, light and heavy-duty machinery, Tractor trailer, forklifts, working in a congested and high activity warehouse.
  • This position requires the driver to be in attendance during the entire process working in various weather conditions while loading and unloading the truck along with making deliveries.
  • Exposed to various chemical and fluids.

Responsibilities

  • Load & unload trailers
  • Raw material / finish good movement with forklift and DSI scan guns. (DSI & JDE Knowledge)
  • Accurately close out loaded trailers and complete outbound paperwork. (Pack list & BOL)
  • Follow all safety guidelines and regulations
  • Transporting loaded trailer of materials between Lube-Tech facilities
  • Moving trailers in and out of dock doors and/or repositioning trailers within parking lot
  • Maintain trailer inventory and updates on DOT dates as needed
  • Maintain current driver’s license with appropriate endorsements and medical card
  • Comply with DOT hours of service rules and maintain truck operation in full compliance with DOT regulations
  • Utilize driver paper logbooks as needed
