The Driver will be expected to transport, deliver, and/or unload Thermo-Tech’s windows and doors to customers in a safe and timely manner to our dealers, distribution centers, and/or construction job sites using a tractor trailer. This position requires a wide range of skills from practicing safe driving and delivery to top-notch customer service.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Ability to obtain a D.O.T. Medical Certificate
2 years of previous tractor trailer driving experience including winter driving experience (equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable)
Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving
Customer relations skills
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
Must be able to load and unload items, with and without dollies, in various types of weather
Prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab for long periods of time
Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Previous hands on delivery experience preferred

Responsibilities

Reviews load sheet and load for the day’s deliveries
Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the equipment.
Reports any issues to Supervisor
Fuels the vehicle and authorizes fuel bill
Transports materials in a safe and efficient manner
Observes all DOT regulations, rules of the road, and defensive driving techniques
Locates customer’s business/residence and confers with client as to where to unload materials
Safely unloads materials, checks quality, reviews packing slip with customer, and secures customer signature
Deals with customers in a courteous and professional fashion and accommodates customers’ requests whenever possible
Picks up materials from vendors, and checks and verifies quality and quantity of materials before receipt
Returns to plant and unloads vehicle
Rotates functions with the department as needed and assigned by Supervisor.
Works as a contributing member of the department team
Performs all functions according to sound safety principles, company policies, and procedures
Notifies Shipping Supervisor of any existing or potential safety issues
Report any incidents and accidents promptly
Completes all necessary paperwork and documentation neatly, timely, and accurately including driver’s logs, timecards, etc
Must meet company appearance standards
Communicates effectively across and within company departments
Maintains good housekeeping in the department
All other duties as assigned
