About The Position

Great Lakes Wine & Spirits is hiring a Shuttle Driver for its Grand Rapids warehouse depots. The driver transports product by tractor-trailer from the Grand Rapids depot to cross-docks throughout Michigan, including Saginaw, Highland Park, Detroit, Kalamazoo, Gaylord, and Traverse City. Duties also include unloading product, separating and staging product, and occasionally taking loads to other depots to cover other drivers. This is a full-time position working Sunday through Thursday, with start times varying between 9 p.m. and 12 a.m. Start times may fluctuate, and occasional Fridays may be required based on holiday schedules and business needs. The work takes place on the road in all weather conditions and is physically demanding, including separating and loading cases and occasionally lifting up to 55 pounds. The position pays $31.32 per hour and includes a quarterly attendance bonus, vacation and personal time, eight paid holidays, and competitive benefits. Employment offers are conditional on satisfactory pre-employment screenings, including a criminal background and credit check, DOT medical evaluation, breath alcohol test, agility (lift) test, and drug screen. Applicants are also subject to a driving-record check and must maintain an acceptable driving record.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years old.
Must hold a chauffeur license and a Class A CDL with an airbrake endorsement.
Hi-lo and pallet jack experience.
Must be willing to work in all weather conditions.
Ability and willingness to take direction and work independently.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 55 pounds.
Acceptable driving record and valid driver's license; driving record is subject to screening.
Must satisfy pre-employment screening conditions, including a background check, credit check, DOT medical evaluation, breath alcohol test, agility (lift) test, and drug screen.

Responsibilities

Deliver product by tractor-trailer between the Grand Rapids depot and cross-docks throughout Michigan.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Follow applicable Department of Transportation and state laws, including hours-of-service and electronic logging device requirements.
Unload product at cross-docks.
Assist in separating and staging product.
Operate power and manual pallet jacks.
Operate hi-lo equipment.
Clean up the work area as needed.
Take loads to other depots to cover other drivers.
Complete other tasks as assigned by supervision.
Follow applicable company policies, procedures, agreements, and work rules; cooperate with management and staff; and follow applicable MLCC rules and regulations.
