The Class A Service Technician performs work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Lithia and manufacturer standards. This role involves diagnosing the cause of malfunctions, completing all work according to safety requirements, and road-testing vehicles to ensure the quality of repair work. The technician is responsible for accurately recording time spent on repairs, documenting work performed and test procedures, and maintaining an inventory of necessary tools. They must also use shop supplies economically, maintain an organized and clean workspace, and ensure customer vehicles are returned in the same condition they were received. Continuous training and certification are essential, including manufacturer and ASE certifications, and participation in assigned technical training and review of bulletins. Effective communication with dealership personnel and reporting of safety concerns are also key aspects of this role. Adherence to personal grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards, as well as punctuality, is required.
