About The Position

Performs a variety of maintenance and repair work in one of the following trades: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or environmental. The employee completes assigned trade work orders and other non-trade assignments, maintains supplies and repair-parts inventory within the trade, and keeps the supervisor informed of preventative maintenance needs. The role also includes general grounds and building tasks such as repairing blinds and fencing, removing snow, and cutting grass. Employees must keep current with Federal, State, and Local laws relevant to their trade and demonstrate trade knowledge through a satisfactory test.

Requirements

Possess the qualifications of general maintenance employees.
Demonstrate skills and knowledge of current trade laws through satisfactory completion of a trade test and current-law test, conducted by a pre-selected testing method.
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic and compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagram, blueprint, or schedule instructions.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and be cooperative, congenial, and service-oriented.
Must be able to work in an environment with frequent interruptions.
