About The Position

Gemini Motor Transport is a nationwide for-hire fuel, crude, and specialty-products motor carrier. Its fleet is equipped with safety features and technology, and the company emphasizes safe service for its customers. The Class A Fuel Tanker Driver operates company trucks to load and deliver fuel and other commodities to Love’s retail locations and third-party customers. Gemini operates 24/7/365.

Drivers are paid $27–$29 per hour, depending on scheduled shift and location, with overtime pay starting after 40 hours worked per week. Drivers are eligible for monthly and annual bonuses, and the position offers a $1,500 sign-on bonus, paid in two installments after 90 and 180 days of active employment. The typical schedule is Friday through Monday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., with Tuesday through Thursday off; availability for variable shifts as business needs dictate is required.

Requirements

• Hold a Commercial Driver’s License and appropriate endorsements, including HazMat, Tanker, and Doubles/Triples, as required by law.
• Qualify physically and obtain a Medical Examiner’s Certificate under applicable Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
• Have 1–2 years of verifiable over-the-road driving experience or certification from an accredited truck driving academy.
• Know applicable DOT and Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
• Be at least 21 years old and meet the qualifications in 49 CFR Section 391.11(b)(1).
• Be able to read and speak English in accordance with 49 CFR Section 391.11(b)(2).
• Be available to work variable shifts as business needs dictate.
• Be able to drive for up to 11 hours and work a total of 14 hours while transporting hazardous materials and sitting for extended periods.
• Be able to walk, bend, reach, push, stoop, squat, and climb to perform vehicle inspections.
• Be able to grasp, lift, and handle heavy equipment for hooking and dropping tractor/trailer combinations, climb onto trailers when necessary, and handle hoses that may be over 20 feet long, up to 4 inches in diameter, and weigh up to 75 pounds.
• Have manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
• Have a normal range of hearing, vision, and smell.
• Offers may be conditioned on an acceptable background check report and/or drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Drive defensively and follow applicable laws and regulations to maintain Gemini’s safety reputation.
• Drive company trucks to load and deliver fuel and commodities to Love’s retail locations and third-party customers.
• Know and comply with applicable federal, state, local, and company rules for the safe operation of a hazardous cargo tank motor vehicle.
• Follow proper loading and unloading methods for the cargo being transported.
• Maintain contact with logistics as needed and required.
• Complete electronic driver logs and other required documentation.
• Follow company guidelines for professional conduct with customers, fellow employees, vendors, and the motoring public.
• Perform required vehicle inspections and safely complete tractor/trailer hooking and dropping processes.
