About The Position

Henner Tank Lines, Inc. is seeking local Class-A drivers for its Bakersfield terminal. The employee-owned and locally operated company offers year-round steady work and full-time employment on a standard five-on, two-off schedule, with some flexibility for special circumstances. Day and night shifts are available. Shift wages range from $33 to $37 per hour depending on shift selection, with an additional monthly safety performance bonus of $2 per safe hour worked; overtime is also paid on bonuses. Company-observed holidays are paid at double time. Daily home time is provided. Orientation is in Vacaville. Drivers operate late-model Peterbilt trucks with Beall tanks.

Requirements

Three years of verifiable Class A driving experience.
Experience with a manual-transmission truck.
Current tanker endorsement.
Current hazmat endorsement.
Doubles/triples endorsement.
Valid TWIC card.
Current medical certificate.
Pass a DOT drug test.
Ability to conduct all operations safely.
Ability to work a 12-hour shift.
Ability to get into and out of the truck frequently.
Ability to lift and/or move 70 pounds regularly.
Physical ability to load and unload the tanker.

Responsibilities

Safely handle petroleum products, ensure product quality, and transport products in compliance with regulations and company operating goals.
Pick up and deliver petroleum products.
Maintain the truck properly and follow safe-driving regulations.
Communicate with dispatch about route or shift delays and issues.
Complete daily DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspection checklists and inform maintenance personnel of issues.
Maintain a legible daily DOT electronic log.
Keep the vehicle neat and tidy.
Comply with company safety and performance standards.
Load and unload the tanker.
