About The Position

The Class A Driver is based in Sacramento, California and drives a route from Sacramento to the Reno area three days a week. The position requires experience driving in snow conditions and through elevation changes. Drivers are home every night and work independently, with no interaction with the warehouse. The start time is 4 a.m.

Drivers safely operate a Class A tractor-trailer or other commercial vehicle and deliver goods to customer locations. They inspect and maintain their vehicles, secure cargo, complete required logs and paperwork, follow applicable safety and transportation regulations, and provide customer service during deliveries.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL.
• A clean driving record under the company's fleet safety standards.
• Ability to operate and navigate a variety of commercial vehicles.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and handle loading and unloading.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and best driving practices.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug tests and maintain an active medical card.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and ELD compliance.
• Experience driving in snow conditions and through elevation changes.

Nice To Haves

• At least 2 years of driving experience.
• Experience with GPS and routing software.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive and operate a Class A tractor-trailer or other commercial vehicle.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Deliver goods to customer locations in a timely and safe manner, locally and over long distances.
• Follow traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain a clean driving record and submit logs and paperwork on time.
• Manage cargo loading and unloading and ensure items are safely secured.
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
• Maintain the vehicle and promptly report issues to management.
• Drive the Sacramento-to-Reno route three days a week.
