About The Position

Charlie's Produce is hiring a Class A Driver to safely and efficiently deliver produce to customers throughout the Portland Metro area. Drivers spend their days on the road and return home at night. Typical dispatch times are between 12 AM and 2 AM. The role involves checking invoices, loading and unloading product, interacting with customers, and supporting payment and credit-memo processes. Palletized product is delivered to a dock or by lift gate. This is a safety-sensitive position. Candidates must meet the stated age, driving-experience, licensing, and physical requirements, and job offers are contingent on passing a criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen that includes THC, and company road test.

Requirements

At least one full year of verifiable experience operating a Class A vehicle for insurance purposes.
Must be at least 23 years old for insurance purposes.
Valid Class A CDL and medical card.
Interstate qualification, registered.
Ability to lift, push, or pull 50+ pounds throughout the shift.
Ability to read and understand English, per DOT rules.
Satisfactory driving record.
Pass a criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen (including THC), and company road test; job offers are contingent on passing these checks.

Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently deliver produce to customers throughout the Portland Metro area.
Accurately check invoices during deliveries.
Load and unload product from the trailer using an electric pallet jack.
Provide superior customer service during each delivery.
Assist in issuing credit memos and collecting payment from COD customers.
Maintain a flexible, cooperative, team-oriented, and customer-focused attitude with colleagues.
Maintain equipment professionally and ensure it is reliable and safe.
Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
