About The Position

The Class A Driver safely and efficiently delivers building materials to customer job sites. The role operates company vehicles, assists with loading and unloading materials, verifies orders for accurate and timely delivery, and provides excellent customer service. The driver must follow DOT regulations and company safety policies while maintaining a professional and courteous attitude with customers and team members. The position also includes yard-related duties and requires working in all weather conditions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class A driver's license.
• Clean driving record.
• Proficiency using a computer and calculator.
• Ability to stand and walk for 4 to 10 hours daily.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, and crouch as needed.
• Strong desire to learn and grow professionally.
• Ability to respond to issues quickly and handle them calmly, accurately, and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand company products, procedures, culture, and customer service philosophy.
• Provide excellent customer service to all clients.
• Load trucks according to the sales invoice and list of materials.
• Organize and secure loads for safe and efficient transport.
• Verify load accuracy with the yard manager before departure.
• Deliver and unload materials at customer job sites, ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Follow delivery instructions and ensure timely deliveries.
• Perform vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation.
• Record delivery information on the sales invoice and communicate customer messages from job sites.
• Obey traffic laws and safety regulations while operating company trucks and forklifts, including wearing seat belts at all times.
• Follow yard loading and security procedures.
• Process merchandise returns accurately with a credit memo.
• Address and resolve customer complaints professionally and promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the assigned yard and areas.
• Assist with loading customer merchandise as needed.
• Work in all weather conditions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
