About The Position

Responsible for loading and delivering fuel products to customers. This role involves operating a tractor and trailer safely, securing product and equipment, and loading/unloading fuel products in accordance with company policies and regulations. The driver will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections using an ELD, manage and submit all necessary paperwork, and maintain a thorough knowledge of hazardous materials regulations. Responsibilities also include fueling the unit, checking liquid levels, reporting any issues or unsafe situations, and adhering to safety, spill prevention, and customer-specific policies. The position requires performing other duties as assigned by the company.

Requirements

  • Class A CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements
  • Procure a TWIC card
  • Valid DOT physical
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of Dispatch and Electronic Logging Software.
  • One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent relations with the customer including attention to personal appearance and demeanor
  • Effective and efficient time management skills
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, waist level only, and with both hands, carrying up to 20 pounds, pulling up to 5 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Operates tractor and trailer safely including securing product and equipment.
  • Loads and unloads fuel products safely in accordance with company policies as well as federal and state regulations.
  • Inspects tractor and trailer at pre-trip and post-trip using ELD.
  • Obtains, completes and secures all paperwork including manifest and BOL for daily submission.
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of hazardous materials regulations.
  • Fuels the unit, checks liquid levels.
  • Reports any problems or malfunctions including any unsafe situations at any terminal or while making a delivery during the course of the day.
  • Follows the company policies related to safety, spill prevention and mitigation.
  • Follows any additional customer specific policies and procedures.
  • Performs any other duties required by the company and consistent with the job.
