Class A CDL Truck Driver
About The Position
NC Machinery is opening a new location in Bellingham, Washington, and is seeking a safety and customer-focused Class A CDL Truck Driver. This role is responsible for preparing, loading, and returning equipment from customer sites to rental yards. The driver will also provide training and instructional direction on the safe use of equipment. This is a physically demanding job that requires attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety. The driver must be willing to communicate and cooperate with customers, respond to their questions, and operate the delivery vehicle safely in compliance with company and DOT guidelines, rules, and regulations. Previous experience in heavy equipment delivery is preferred, and experience in the rental industry is desired. Experience using commercial vehicles is essential for identifying the need for repairs and/or maintenance and ensuring these are accomplished with minimal disruption to operations.
Requirements
- A CDL-A is required.
- Ability to drive a standard transmission is required.
- At least two years driving experience or have completed a Truck Driver training school course.
- No preventable accidents, license suspensions, alcohol-related violations or other moving violations in the past 3 years.
- A High School or G.E.D. is required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in heavy equipment delivery is preferred.
- Experience in the rental industry is desired.
Responsibilities
- Prepare equipment for delivery.
- Load equipment onto delivery vehicle.
- Return equipment from customer sites to rental yards.
- Provide training and/or instructional direction on the safe use of equipment.
- Communicate and cooperate with customers.
- Respond to customer questions.
- Safely operate delivery vehicle in compliance with company and DOT Guidelines, Rules and Regulations.
- Identify the need for repairs and/or maintenance on commercial vehicles.
- Ensure maintenance or repairs are accomplished with a minimum of disruption to the operation.
