Class A CDL Truck Driver
About The Position
POOLCORP is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver for local deliveries from its SCP Distributors location in Mesa, Arizona. Drivers make safe, complete, accurate, and on-time deliveries while following Department of Transportation and other applicable regulations. Drivers are home every night, and the company guarantees at least 40 hours per week, including when weather prevents deliveries. The listed pay is $26 per hour, with the opportunity to earn up to $3,500 in annual bonuses. The position has a shift start between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. It is considered safety-sensitive and involves operating delivery vehicles, handling products, and complying with federal and state transportation regulations. External offers are contingent upon successful pre-employment drug testing and background verifications.
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years old.
- Hold a valid Class A commercial driver's license.
- Have no more than two combined violations or at-fault accidents in the past three years, as indicated by the Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP).
- Be able to maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Have excellent customer service skills.
- Have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Be able to carry out instructions with minimal supervision.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with PCs and other material handling equipment is preferred.
- Moffett, Skelly, or air brake experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Make deliveries using effective routes to ensure orders arrive on time.
- Load and unload the vehicle, properly secure products, and separate hazardous materials appropriately.
- Collect payments and accurately document deliveries.
- Comply with state and federal regulations, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR).
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and inform a supervisor of needed maintenance.
- Keep the vehicle clean, well-maintained, and presentable.
- Increase job and product knowledge on an ongoing basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
