About The Position

This role involves driving a specific and designated vehicle to transport and deliver goods, services, equipment, and/or materials in liquid, loose, or packaged form in a safe and professional manner, aligning with Sanford's mission, vision, and values. The driver will operate a single vehicle weighing less than 26,001 pounds, requiring a Medical Certification card to cross state lines. The job combines motor vehicle handling ability with communication skills, emphasizing the utmost importance of medical information sensitivity and confidentiality. The driver will ensure safe and scheduled transportation, maintain support equipment in good operating condition, set up equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and Sanford policy, and maintain appropriate records per Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements and Sanford reports. Communication of scheduling conflicts is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age to meet auto insurance requirements.
  • Must have an understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) driver compliance requirements and endorsements.
  • Driver history must comply with Sanford driver qualification standards for insurability.
  • Current valid driver’s license.
  • Must meet all medical guidelines for Sanford Health Category I driver and full compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Must maintain valid DOT medical certification card.
  • If incumbent does not hold required certifications, must obtain with six months of date of hire.
  • Depending on department, Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification may be required upon hire.
