About The Position

The Driver position specializing in Flatbeds, Dump Trailers, and Walking Floors is critical to ensuring the safe and timely transportation of a variety of materials and goods. This role requires operating specialized commercial vehicles to deliver cargo efficiently while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. The driver will be responsible for ensuring that all shipments arrive in excellent condition. Additionally, the role involves maintaining accurate logs and documentation related to deliveries, vehicle inspections, and compliance with transportation laws. Ultimately, this position supports the company’s supply chain by providing reliable and professional transportation services that meet customer expectations. We are a Compost/Soil/Mulch producing facility, which does require working in various weather conditions. We deliver bulk and palletized materials on walking floors, end dump trailers, Dump trucks, and flatbed trailers. As well as hauling raw materials off job sites for production.

Requirements

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A flatbeds, dump trailers, and walking floors.
  • Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience operating flatbed and dump trailer trucks.
  • Clean driving record with no major violations in the past three years.
  • Ability to pass DOT physical examination and drug screening.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to commercial vehicle operation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with route planning and GPS navigation systems.
  • Familiarity with load securing techniques specific to flatbeds and walking floor trailers.
  • Basic mechanical skills to perform minor vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with dispatchers, customers, and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Operate flatbed trucks, dump trailers, and walking floor trailers to transport materials to designated locations safely and efficiently.
  • Ensuring proper securing of loads to prevent damage or accidents during transit.
  • Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure mechanical safety and report any issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or delays encountered during routes.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local transportation laws and company safety policies at all times.
