About The Position

Southern Lumber & Millwork is hiring a full-time Class A CDL Driver in Charleston, South Carolina, to make local building-material deliveries throughout the greater Charleston area. The role offers year-round work, a Monday-through-Friday schedule, and no overnight travel. Drivers are home every night, finish by 5:00 PM Monday through Thursday, and by 3:00 PM on Friday. The schedule is approximately 40 to 50 hours per week, with weekly overtime opportunities.

The operations team prepares customer orders and loads trucks so drivers can focus on safely and promptly delivering materials in excellent condition. Deliveries include lumber, moulding, windows, doors, millwork, and other building materials. Drivers unload materials at customer jobsites and represent Southern Lumber professionally while providing excellent customer service.

Southern Lumber & Millwork is a third-generation, family-owned and operated building-materials supplier serving Charleston and the South Carolina Lowcountry since 1941. Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Safe driving record.
• Commercial driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a commercial delivery truck on local routes.

• Verify delivery paperwork and maintain accurate records.
• Complete daily vehicle inspections.
• Follow DOT regulations and company safety procedures.
• Communicate with the operations team throughout the day.
• Provide excellent customer service at every delivery.
• Represent Southern Lumber professionally on the road and at customer jobsites.
