This position involves local and out-of-town hauling, including transporting biosolids from treatment plants to agricultural fields. Drivers will operate a variety of truck and trailer configurations and travel into the mountains year-round. The ideal candidate has strong driving skills, sound judgment, and experience operating safely in changing road, weather, and jobsite conditions.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
  • Current DOT medical certification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain endorsements required for assigned equipment and loads.
  • Knowledge of vehicle inspections, load securement, and safe commercial driving practices.
  • Willingness to travel and operate in mountain conditions throughout the year.
  • Ability to work safely at treatment plants, agricultural fields, and locations with uneven terrain.
  • Dependability, clear communication, and a strong commitment to safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating tractor-trailers; heavy haul and mountain driving experience preferred.
  • Experience with dump trailers, tankers, roll-offs, detachable trailers, or drop decks preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles on local routes and out-of-town assignments.
  • Haul tankers, end dumps, side dumps, dry vans, roll-offs, detachable trailers, and drop decks.
  • Transport biosolids from treatment plants to designated agricultural fields.
  • Perform heavy haul assignments using proper loading, weight distribution, and load securement procedures.
  • Navigate mountain roads year-round, including steep grades, snow, ice, and changing weather conditions.
  • Follow safe procedures for loading, unloading, dumping, and operating trailer equipment.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and promptly report equipment defects or maintenance needs.
  • Maintain accurate trip records, delivery paperwork, and electronic logs as required.
  • Follow company safety procedures, site requirements, and applicable transportation regulations.
  • Communicate with dispatch, plant personnel, and field crews to coordinate pickups and deliveries.
  • Travel and stay overnight as assignments require.
