About The Position
Pet Food Experts (PFX) is seeking a dependable, safety-minded Class A CDL Driver to join their Fontana, CA distribution center. This role involves delivering pet food and supplies to independent retailers throughout Southern California and beyond. PFX emphasizes safety, teamwork, reliability, and customer service, aiming to create a workplace where employees can build a career within a caring team. The drivers are responsible for making inside deliveries to independent pet retailers, ensuring products are delivered safely, accurately, and on time. This includes operating delivery equipment, completing documentation, adhering to safety regulations, and providing excellent customer service. The position is a Union position with Teamsters Local 848.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum 1 year of Class A driving experience
- Valid DOT Medical Certificate
- Experience using a walkie jack and hand truck
- Strong customer service skills
- Reliable attendance and a dependable work ethic
- Ability to safely and independently bend, lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles and delivery equipment
- Comfortable with early morning start times, varying routes and occasional overnight travel
- Must successfully complete required pre-employment testing, including physical/drug testing, MVR and background checks
Nice To Haves
- Experience with lift gates is preferred
Responsibilities
- Make deliveries throughout Southern California, Las Vegas, Nevada and Arizona, including the Phoenix and Tucson areas
- Make inside deliveries and unload pet food and supplies at customer locations
- Safely operate pallet jacks, walkie jacks and hand trucks
- Use lift gates, tuck-under gates and other delivery equipment
- Load, unload and move product weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Complete delivery documentation using company-provided technology
- Operate an ELD and follow all DOT and company safety requirements
- Provide professional, friendly customer service at every stop
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, attendance and reliability
