This regional driving position offers home time weekly with regional runs, new equipment, and state-of-the-art technology. The role involves the safe operation of a TAS with a 53’ dry van, with 80% of loads being drop and hook. Drivers are responsible for the safe and effective delivery of goods, adhering to all federal, state, and local regulations. An offered load cannot be refused. The position requires thorough pre-trip inspections, inspection of tractor and trailer, and reporting of any defects. Drivers will operate tractor-trailer equipment in various configurations and conditions, over long distances. Responsibilities include dropping, hooking, spotting, and switching equipment, as well as raising and lowering landing gear. Ensuring all required shipping documentation accompanies deliveries and properly securing cargo are key duties. Frequent communication with Dispatch/Operations via PeopleNet or phone is necessary to report stops, movements, equipment issues, cargo problems, and delays. Drivers must report all accidents or incidents, provide initial contact with public safety officials, and report any moving violations. Maintaining an electronic driver's log in accordance with FMCSA and company requirements, and remaining knowledgeable of hours of service are critical. Proper and efficient completion of all necessary paperwork, including inspection reports, manifests, bills of lading, trip pay reports, fuel and mileage reports, and accident reports, is required. Verification of shipping documentation against load information and noting any discrepancies or damage is also part of the role. Drivers will perform roadside inspections as required by law and company policy. The role involves working in adverse weather conditions without temperature or other environmental controls. Drivers must perform work in a timely manner to meet service schedules and communicate professionally with all company contacts.
