The Bulk Delivery Driver safely and efficiently operates diesel-powered tractor-trailers to transport and deliver packaged or palletized products or materials to and from customer locations over local and regional distances, in compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations and company policies. The role unloads pallets at customer accounts, repositions empty and loaded trailers, and interacts with customers and the sales team to provide excellent service. Drivers prepare for shifts by reviewing schedules, checking equipment and supplies, and verifying load accuracy. They conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and en-route safety inspections; operate the tractor-trailer in compliance with applicable laws and company policy; complete freight paperwork and delivery documentation; plan trips to support efficient, legal, and timely pickups and deliveries; record hours of service electronically; and secure cargo and maintain seal control as required. The position also involves loading and unloading freight at customer locations, using electric pallet jacks or other methods, and coordinating with team members and store personnel. Post-shift duties include coupling and uncoupling trucks and trailers, adjusting tandems, operating loading gear and cargo doors, safely climbing on and off the vehicle, refueling with diesel, securing equipment, and completing required paperwork. Work conditions may include exposure to weather, coolers, and customer storage areas that may not be temperature controlled.
