About The Position

Claiborne Hauling, LLC is seeking an experienced and dependable Class 8 Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic to maintain the safety, reliability, and performance of its fleet. The role involves diagnosing and repairing Class 8 trucks and heavy equipment, performing preventative maintenance and inspections, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and diesel engine issues, and documenting service and repair work. The ideal candidate takes pride in their workmanship, pays close attention to detail, and is committed to safety and quality.

Requirements

Previous experience repairing and maintaining Class 8 or heavy-duty diesel trucks and heavy equipment.
Strong diesel, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Experience using diagnostic equipment and software.
Knowledge of air brake, suspension, drivetrain, and electrical systems.
Ability to safely use shop tools and equipment.
Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs.
Valid driver's license.
Dependable attendance and strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

CDL and applicable certifications are a plus but are not required.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and diesel engine issues on Class 8 trucks and heavy equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and routine services.
Troubleshoot engine, transmission, brake, suspension, steering, and electrical systems.
Use diagnostic software, tools, and equipment to identify issues accurately.
Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Identify additional maintenance or repair needs during inspections.
Maintain accurate service and repair documentation.
Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
Follow company safety procedures and established maintenance practices.
