About The Position

Claiborne Hauling, LLC is an established trucking, hauling, and site development company based in Knoxville, Tennessee, specializing in dump truck operations, aggregate hauling, grading, excavation, and quarry operations. The company is seeking an experienced and dependable Class 8 Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic to maintain the safety, reliability, and performance of its fleet. The role requires extensive knowledge of heavy-duty diesel trucks, strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities, and hands-on experience with preventive maintenance and mechanical repairs. Requirements

• Previous experience repairing and maintaining Class 8 or heavy-duty diesel trucks and heavy equipment.
• Strong diesel, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment and software.
• Knowledge of air brake, suspension, drivetrain, and electrical systems.
• Ability to safely use shop tools and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs.
• Valid driver's license.
• Dependable attendance and strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• CDL and applicable certifications are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and diesel engine issues on Class 8 trucks and heavy equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and routine services.
• Troubleshoot engine, transmission, brake, suspension, steering, and electrical systems.
• Use diagnostic software, tools, and equipment to identify issues accurately.
• Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high standards for safety and quality.
• Identify additional maintenance or repair needs during inspections.
• Maintain accurate service and repair documentation.
• Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
• Follow company safety procedures and established maintenance practices.
