About The Position

As a Class 5 Driver, you’ll be an important part of our delivery team by getting customers’ orders to job sites and homes safely, on time, and with a level of professionalism that keeps our customers coming back. Every delivery is a chance to make a great impression and build the kind of loyalty that matters in our community. This is an active, physical role that requires good judgment on the road and at the delivery site. You’ll work independently for much of the day, so being self-directed, safety-conscious, and a strong communicator with both customers and your team back at the yard is key.

Requirements

  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract
  • Ability to safely load, unload, and handle deliveries independently – must be able to lift at least 70 pounds and perform tasks involving stretching, bending, and carrying objects of varying weights
  • Exceptional time management skills – you plan your day strategically to ensure on-time deliveries
  • A confident, self-directed problem-solver who can make good decisions on the road without always having someone to check in with
  • A collaborative communicator who keeps the shipping team and dispatch informed and works well with yard staff and customers alike
  • Excellent customer service skills – you’re the face of our company at every delivery stop
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when it comes to paperwork, records, and delivery accuracy
  • Detail oriented with a strong commitment to safe work practices

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in delivery driving or the building materials/lumber industry is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Delivering customer orders safely and on time, representing the company professionally at every step
  • Contacting customers ahead of deliveries to confirm drop locations and any specific requirements
  • Loading and unloading the delivery truck with care to avoid damage to company or customer property
  • Coordinating with the shipping team to prioritize delivery order and plan efficient routes
  • Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and keeping accurate records of maintenance and service checks
  • Reporting any vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the relevant supervisor promptly
  • Completing all delivery paperwork and tracking software entries accurately
  • Keeping the truck clean and well-maintained
  • Adhering to all provincial driving laws, regulations, and WorkSafeBC Standards at all times
  • Keeping dispatch and the team informed of your progress, any site issues, or delivery discrepancies encountered on the road
  • Building positive relationships with customers through friendly, professional service at every delivery
