About The Position

This is a summer relief position based in Castlegar. Van-Kam Freightways Ltd. is seeking a Class 1 Driver with at least 2 years of P&D experience to perform local city LTL deliveries and pickups in Castlegar and surrounding areas. The role involves operating various tractor-trailer combinations, traveling between the Castlegar terminal and customer facilities, and ensuring safe and timely delivery of freight. Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of P&D experience
• A valid Class 1 Driver’s License
• A clean driver’s abstract
• Flat Deck Experience is required
• Strong work ethic and safety-first attitude
• Good communication and time management skills
• Be comfortable operating a handheld computer device.
• Be comfortable operating a manual pallet jack

Responsibilities

• Performing local city LTL deliveries and pickups in Castlegar and surrounding areas.
• Operating various tractor-trailer combinations based on delivery needs.
• Traveling between our Castlegar terminal and customer facilities within the service area.
• Conducting pre-trips, en-route, and post-trip inspections.
• Ensuring all freight is handled with care and delivered safely and on time.
• Communicating clearly and professionally with dispatch and customers.
• Maintaining accurate delivery logs and paperwork.
• Representing our company with a customer-first, professional attitude.
