About The Position

Manitoulin Transport, a leader in transportation and logistics for 65 years, is seeking to partner with independent incorporated businesses to provide linehaul owner-operator services. This role is based out of Kamloops, B.C., and requires a current model truck and a qualified operator. The services are generally required over 5 days/nights, including some weekends, and operational flexibility is a must. The qualified operator is responsible for meeting all regulatory requirements, including pre and post-trip inspections, and may be required to perform periodic dock services for loading and unloading freight. Operators must adhere to the standards and requirements outlined in the services contract and provide WCB coverage for their operators. Requirements

Class 1 license
1 year of experience
Good understanding of the Hours of Service regulations
Must be able to provide a criminal record check, driver's abstract, and 2 references confirming the delivery of service excellence
Mechanically Fit Bunk Truck that is ELD Compatible
Truck specifications that align with Carrier's Equipment

Nice To Haves

Deck experience is an asset
Forklift ticket an asset
TDG, WHMIS, and Forklift experience are an asset

Responsibilities

Provide linehaul owner-operator services based out of Kamloops, B.C.
Operate a current model truck and be a qualified operator
Meet all regulatory requirements, including pre and post-trip inspections of equipment
Potentially deliver periodic dock services to load and unload freight
Operate within the standards and requirements as outlined in the services contract
Provide WCB Coverage to its Operators
